A Unique Team Building Event--"The Story in Republican China"

On May 15, the employees of Nanjing Chemical Material Corporation(NCMC) staged a role-playing game called "The Story in Republican China" at Shiqiu Film and Television Base.

Early in the morning we took a bus to Shiqiu Film and Television Base, where "The Flowers of War", "Blind Massage", "The Disguiser" and other well-known films were shooting. It is also the shooting scene for "You Are the One" , "Who's Still Standing" and other televisions. The distinctive cathedral and the Republican China street in there are the best scene for the theme of our role-playing game--"The Story in Republican China".

The great part was that some of us who were shy, after the ice-breaking greeting activities, all began to show their mischievousness and humor. During the activities, we participated in a dancing contest where we formed different teams led by different characters in the story. Each team has 3 minutes to name the team, learn dance movements and design the pose for photos. We undertook different position in this contest and it perfectly showed our collaboration spirit. Some of us who showed great dancing talent will definitely be in the spot light at our annual party conference.   

In such a scene full of characteristics of Republic of China, the expressive play masters fully showed their talents and made a great drama.

With the main actors and actress in place, the first scene of "The Story in Republican China" began: members of the family in which the story happened gathered together to perform the first act. Look at the graceful third daughter of the family, who is even more appealing wearing the dress that was popular during the Republic of China (the third one to the left in the last picture). Every team had to play a small game to get clues about the characters in the story. No matter there were physical challenge--jumping rope with a pressure board, a collaboration game--building a tower together, or a puzzle game--Tower of Hanoi, each team helped each other and participated together happily. 

In this story, you could be a calculated murderer, an instigator, or a detective hidden in the dark.

The attack and defense during the debate between the teams made it hard to tell the truth from the false. Although the team representing the murderer was really good at disguise, they can not escape the justice after the certificate searching and brainstorm of other teams since the evil would never win. After all the discussion and reasoning, the team led by the fourth son of the family(one character of the story) found out the murderer and the final victory belonged to them.

A sudden rain drove us from open air to a hall, but it didn’t reduce our enthusiasm. This unique team building event came to an end accompanied by cheers and laugh. On our way home, we were still in the characters and discussed the intricate story and the revelation of the truth with emotion. Everyone hoped the event would never end. 

In recent years, many excellent young employees have joined NCMC. The new blood has brought vigor and positive energy to our big family. This unique team building event included both mental and physical activities, which tested and trained our abilities such as logical expression, activity organization and collaboration and it also strengthened the cohesion of NCMC.  All in all, let us maintain this love and enthusiasm for life and work and move forward hand in hand!
