Gastric/Enteric-Soluble Pharmaceutical Film Coating
POLYACRYLIC RESIN IV

Polyacrylic Resin IV is a cationic acrylate copolymer that dissolves by forming salts upon reaction with acids.

The film coating formed by Polyacrylic Resin IV is soluble in gastric fluid and acidic media with a pH below 5.0, but insoluble in neutral to weakly alkaline media; it offers superior moisture resistance compared to HPMC.

Film-forming properties

Films made from Polyacrylic Resin IV are colorless, transparent, flexible, and elastic. They are readily soluble in acidic media (natural or simulated gastric fluid) and in buffer solutions with a pH below 5.0; they swell and become permeable in water or buffer solutions with a pH above 5.0.
