Gastric/Enteric-Soluble Pharmaceutical Film Coating
ETHYLACRYLATE AND METHYL METHACRYLATE COPOLYMER DISPERSION
This product is an aqueous dispersion based on an acrylic copolymer resin. It is equivalent to the "Ethyl Acrylate and Methyl Methacrylate Copolymer Dispersion" specified in the United States Pharmacopeia (USP). It is pH independent; the film formed is insoluble in water as well as in acidic and alkaline solutions, and exhibits low permeability and low swellability.

Film-forming properties

Forms a colorless, transparent film. The film is insoluble in water as well as acidic and alkaline solutions, but it can swell and disintegrate in such solutions.

Product Applications

100% aqueous- based system; film- coated sustained/controlled- release formulations remain unaffected by environmental pH

  • Suitable for film coating of tablets, pellets, and granules
  • Facilitates pH- independent slow release of active pharmaceutical ingredients throughout the gastrointestinal tract
  • Modulates drug release in Transdermal Delivery Systems
  • Improves gastrointestinal tolerability of the drug
  • Isolates incompatible ingredients during granulation and optimizes mechanical properties
  • Enhances tableting performance; exhibits hygroscopic properties during production that help retain moisture, thereby maintaining optimal hardness and friability
  • Protects the drug from environmental factors (e.g., temperature, humidity, light), extending the stability of the active ingredient.

  • Packaging

HDPE drums, 25 kg per drum

    Storage
Store in a tightly sealed container at 5 - 25°C ; protect from freezing
