Gastric/Enteric-Soluble Pharmaceutical Film Coating
PARTIALLY NEUTRALIZED-METHACRYLIC ACID AND ETHYLACRYLATE COPOLYMER
This product is obtained by the polymerization of methacrylic acid and ethyl acrylate, with a portion of the methacrylic acid units neutralized by sodium hydroxide. It is an anionic copolymer based on methacrylic acid units that forms a dispersion in water. Insoluble in gastric fluid, it forms salts upon contact with alkali and dissolves in weakly alkaline solutions, thereby providing an enteric coating that dissolves in intestinal fluid at pH 5.5 and above.

Film-forming properties
Forms a colorless, transparent film when a plasticizer is added. The film is insoluble in media with a pH below 5.0 (e.g., gastric fluid) but dissolves in buffer solutions with a pH above 5.5.

Product Applications
  • Used for enteric film coating of pellets, tablets, and granules; suitable for colorless, transparent, or colored enteric- coated dosage forms (e.g., Omeprazole, Rabeprazole, Pantoprazole, Esomeprazole Magnesium, etc.)
  • Increasing the coating weight can delay drug release in the intestine
  • Used for coating capsules and granules
  • Provides excellent enteric performance
